Yes! We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization. Contributions made to Uplift NYC are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We will provide all donors a written statement at the end of the year in which a contribution was made. Uplift NYC’s tax identification number is 46-5401925. While it is possible to have your gift directed toward a specific program, we ask that you contribute unrestricted funding. By not restricting your contribution for a specific program, you will enable us more flexibility to allocate funds to programs based on need.
If you would like to restrict an online donation, you must send an email to after your transaction is complete. In your email, please tell us to which program you would like the funds directed. Please include your name, full address, the amount of your donation, and your donation confirmation number. We will follow-up with an email to confirm the earmarking of your donation to the requested program.

You may request a refund for the original amount within 30 days of your original donation. To request a refund, please email We will try our best to refund requests made after 30 days, but such refunds are not guaranteed to be granted.

Our website is secured by an SSL certificate, which authenticates the identity of the website (this guarantees visitors that we are who we say we are and not on a bogus site) and encrypts the data that is being transmitted. Our payment gateway is provided by Stripe, a highly reputable vendor used by many businesses and organizations. Stripe follows the most strict requirements for security in the industry. Your credit card information is not stored in our servers but is instead processed by Stripe. All card numbers are encrypted and Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services.
