About Us

Established in 2014, Uplift NYC is a New York State not-for-profit organization providing low-income youth and their families with access to key resources such as educational, health, cultural, and legal aid services. Since our founding, we have focused on our Youth Engagement & Sports (YES) Program, which uses basketball as a vehicle to increase youth participation in physical exercise and empower youth to become leaders on the court and in their community, lead healthier lifestyles, and overcome socio-economic obstacles. UPLIFT MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Our mentorship program targets socio-economically disadvantaged youth and young adults, who are recent immigrants or experience issues of poverty, absenteeism, academic difficulties, history of suspensions, probation or parole. By partnering our youth with college students, community members, and professional adults, we hope to foster more quality social contacts and improve academic achievement, timely school graduation, and access to tertiary education. more
